This center is a collaboration betwen the NHSACA and it's partners, NSCA( National Strength and Conditioning Association), Core Performance and EAS. The goals of this Center are: To fill the strength and conditioning knowledge gap by creating linkage between proper knowledge of strength and conditioning and sports performance; To educate NHSACA athletic directors, coaches and assistant coaches and their student-athletes; To provide general training tips for NHSACA members; and to ensure that the strength and conditioning education of our student athletes is executed in a safe and healthy manner.The following material is provided by these organizations for use by the NHSACA.

Barbell Exercises (20)This months training tip is The Overhead Squat . The Overhead Squat is an exercise that requires the athlete to hold barbell overhead while squatting through a full range of motion. In order to accomplish this, the athlete must stabilize the torso and shoulder complex to keep the bar in a static position overhead. The ability to properly stabilize the torso is imperative while engaging in athletics. Therefore, the Overhead Squat can be an effective tool for enhancing one's athletic performance.
