National Convention 2007 Annual Meeting Photo Gallery NHSACA 2008 National Conference The 2008 National High School Athletic Coaches Association Annual Meeting will be held at the Double Tree Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado; on June 21st through 25th, 2008.
The NHSACA Annual Meeting will return College Credit to its offering this year. Sioux Falls University will grant two graduate credits for each of two concurrent tracks offered on Saturday and Sunday (June 21st and 22nd). One track is "Strength and Nutrition" and the second track is "New Concepts in Coaching." The "Strength and Nutrition" credits will be taught at the National Strength and Conditioning Association Center and will develop the NSCA "Fly Solo Program. The course instructor is Boyd Epley from NSCA. Enrollees must register with NSCA at least two weeks before June 21st and follow the course preparations. The "New Concepts in Coaching" will center instruction on hot topics. Among those topics will be National Federation "Coaching Fundamentals", "MRSA; What it is and How it is Controlled", "Sports Nutrition", "Nutrition and Performance", "Drug Testing", "Tracking NCAA Requirements", "Violence Prevention", and "US Anti-Doping Agency". Most of the issues are pertinent to all coaches, young and old. The Saturday/Sunday College Credit Schedule is viewable on this website. On Monday, each specific sport will hold breakout sessions; Sioux Falls University will grant three graduate credits for the three days of "Sport Specific Coaching." The NHSACA Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, June 24th at noon. The 2008 Hall of Fame Inductees are listed on the 2008 Hall of Fame Inductee List tab of this website. The NHSACA Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Wednesday, June 25th at 5:30 PM. The 2008 NHSACA Coach of the Year Finalists list is found on the Coach of the Year tab of this website. The National Coach of the Year of each sport will come from the Finalists' list and will be announced at the NHSACA Annual Awards Banquet.
