Goals & Purpose

The NHSACA is the only high school coaches association created by and governed by coaches. The NHSACA provides high school coaches across America with a voice in current national issues. The NHSACA provides high school coaches with the finest recognition program available in America. The NHSACA offers a first-class annual convention complete with graduate college credit programs. The NHSACA provides an ever-expanding benefits package including free legal consultation via telephone. Our goals include:

  • To raise the quality and competence of high school athletic coaching and administration to the highest level possible through leadership development, educational programs, training sessions, and informative publications.
  • To promote and publicize high school sports and its five million student/athletes through national, state, and local award programs.
  • To foster amateur sports programs for boys and girls with national-class skills in a variety of sports which provide social, educational, and competitive opportunities for the students.
  • To promote Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention among high school students, teachers, coaches and parents in cooperation with the government, law enforcement agencies, and educational groups.
  • To recognize those professional men and women coaches who have devoted their energies over many years to bring excellence to sports programs in high schools across America.

What Do We Do?

Educate

Our educational focus is dedicated to more than X's and O's. We see coaches as leaders—leaders who are role models to America's youth. We offer graduate college credit programs in Coaching Leadership. Specific Sports Clinics, Drug Abuse Prevention Seminars, as well as others to help you stay current with today's important issues.

Recognize

We recognize coaches not just for a season of coaching, but for their "lifetime achievements." The NHSACA Coach of the Year awards are the most prestigious awards given to high school coaches in America. Some 150 coaches earn the "National Spotlight" each June at our Annual Convention.

Support

Due to our National scope, we are able to provide many areas of support for our members including legal consultation via telephone regarding coaching issues. We also have a National voice in important issues facing America's High School Coaches and their athletes.
